JDU/Winter Weekend Flyer
FIFTH RIDDLE BELOW
There will be a friendly competition leading up to the wonderfully wintery weekend session of Job’s Daughters
University where magical excitement, leadership, learning, and Fun are to be had! The Tournament Competition
starts now, don't miss out!
Instructions to Compete in the Tri-Jobie Tournament:
You must be a Jobie the age of 20 & under.
You must be clever & solve the riddles that the Headmistresses of JDU, Miss Jessica Garver & Mrs. Stephanie Uber
give out.
Once the riddle is solved, email the answers to the Headmistresses to Jess- jgarver96@msn.com and Steph-
manowar49@aol.com (Don’t forget to email your name and Bethel number too!)
Come to JDU/Winter Weekend in February to find out who won and will be awarded the coveted Tri-Jobie Tournament
Cup and Prizes!!!
Your First Riddle:
Of the Daughters five, they speak of Job of old,
And his tale to the pilgrims is told,
One Jobie, in particular, states: "All the Magic of youth and Joy of life are ours...."
But the rest of the phrase is yours to find, search high & low, from the ground to the stars,
Finish the phrase, name the Daughter, and to the Headmistresses you must mail,
But don't be late, and don't forget to answer this tale.
But wait! Do you wish to earn point of bonus so fair,
Tell us also the name of the worldly Bethel Daughter with care,
Who supremely reigns over the same station of which you seek,
Find the name, and 10 more extra points shall be yours to keep.
For the bonus, do you need a hint? Search where all Jobies have a home on the world wide web,
To there find her name- don't give up, or let your enthusiasm ebb.
Your SECOND Riddle:
Marching East and marching West
Job's Daughters marching is the best.
We march at open and we march at close,
Our corners are square, as everyone knows.
Our formation at end is simple and true,
But can you tell us of the three different views?
Hold on one moment as our voices join in song,
They hit different chords as they all sing along.
At the end of the day after our business is through,
There are three different songs that we could possibly choose to sing for you!
Name those three melodies that the Ritual holds true,
And you will be closer to the prize that we have just for you.
Are you in need of help with this riddle so fair?
Do you like shapes, such as a "Square..."?
How about another as you search high and low,
"Onward..." you march as you go to and fro.
That's all that we'll give you as our riddle comes to an end,
You are all awesome contenders and someone we would call a friend.
Your THIRD Riddle:
Many ceremonies in Job's Daughters are done,
Good Bethels use several a year and not just one.
A few can be located in the Supreme Book of Ceremonies, so here we go,
As each of our Bethels continue to grow.
One important Ceremony is this we use,
To bring in new Daughters who just can't refuse!
It is beautiful and filled with epochs galore,
And all it takes to begin are four raps on the door!
Another Ceremony that is both happy and sad,
May not quite make every girl glad,
Our watchword is, "Mizpah", and such meaning it will hold,
As one chapter of Job's Daughters is ended and a new one begins to unfold.
In this next Ceremony we will need the title,
Every piece of information is incredibly vital.
"Precious and everlasting - one small pearl,
beautiful and pure - each Bethel girl."
To finish this riddle three ceremonies we need,
But don't forget the page numbers to finish this deed.
Two books you will reference and find the truth,
But please find them all while we are still in our youth!
Your FOURTH Riddle:
We have five girls who bring us news, and tell us
About flocks dotting the landscapes, and homes of sons and daughters
who numbers are five and three.
One Daughter brings us sad news, telling of messengers foretelling calamity
And of Three Friends from the Far East.
What station does this Daughter's message come from and what are the names of these three friends?
Your FIFTH Riddle:
A woman with two daughters so fair,
wished them to grow up to be leaders.
She searched from high to low, from the ground to the air,
but a group for them did not exist.
So she created a group just for them, a special one,
based on the tales her own Mother told her.
And so the group was made, of future leaders and sisters,
filled with lots of love and fun.
Now all Daughters today across the world can thank her
for the beautiful order which she founded for us.
But what was her name? Her birthdate we need too. The years of which she served the highest office in the land and
last, we need the date of when she entered the Great Bethel on High.
Don't forget the bonus too- this lovely talented lady of that which we speak, was also a prolific writer; which book
did she author?
